Impact for Hire #2: Ellyn Parker
Ellyn Parker is a passionate advocate for our planet and the pressing issues related to creating sustainable, resilient healthy communities. With a decades-long career in government, community activism, art and the built environment, she is looking to bring this diverse experience to an organization advancing ESG — either full time or as a contractor.
“The field of ESG focuses on the nexus of experience that I have in working in government, creating policy shifts and supporting healthy social conditions and I would love to find work that will embrace the creativity, energy and passion I bring to everything I do,” says Ellyn.
Ellyn spent two decades in San Francisco where she leveraged her creativity to effect positive change. Some of her achievements include working to create the first parklet policy in San Francisco, running exhibitions and learning wastewater management at a botanical garden, and creating public art that engages the community with natural beauty. Ellyn also helped bring pianos to the streets in San Francisco with an artist who used old pianos to bring attention to declining whale populations. Ellen holds a bachelors in Organizational Behavior and Leadership Development from University of San Francisco.
Ellyn’s “sustainability superpower”: Creative, strategic thinking with an artistic flare that helps her tell compelling sustainability stories.
Having traversed a career in government, community activism, arts and the built environment, she is ready to bring this experience to benefit organizations advancing social and environmental impact.
As of July 2022, Ellyn is available for full-time or freelance work in Richmond, Virginia or remote-first. To learn more about Ellyn, please check out her LinkedIn profile and contact her there.
